Postnuptial Contracts
Postnuptial agreements allow married couples the ability to create a contract that determines how assets and debts will be allocated in the event of a divorce. Postnuptial contracts are typically created when parties intend to remain married, but want to have some certainty regarding the allocation of their property should a divorce occur. Like prenuptial agreements, the parties may also determine an appropriate spousal support award through the process of creating a postnuptial agreement.
